The Age GoodCafe Guide for 2013 has hit our shelves giving us the best in Melbourne coffee and cafes for another year.<\/p>\n

The 2013 edition of The Age Good Cafe Guide will hit the shelves this week after being officially unveiled at an industry awards function on Monday 17 June. The Guide is a must-have for every Melbourne coffee lover, or visitor to the city.<\/p>\n

All award winners are named and reviewed in the Guide. In addition to this, the Guide features reviews of more than 300 cafes in Melbourne’s city and suburbs and lists them in their geographical areas for easy reference.<\/p>\n

Each cafe is reviewed and judged on its commitment to quality from bean to cup, food, space and place, and on the magic feel-good-factor. The very best of these have been awarded one to three coffee cups, with the following standards given for each award:
\nTotal commitment to outstanding coffee
\nTruly excellent cafe with great coffee
\nGenuinely good cafe with quality coffee<\/p>\n

The Age Good Cafe Guide 2013 will be available in book stores and on theageshop.com.au from Tuesday, June 18 for $9.99, with The Age readers able to pick up the Guide for only $5 with their copy of The Saturday Age on Saturday 22 June.<\/p>\n

With chef Andrew Gale in charge of the kitchen, St Ali\u2019s creative riffs on cafe food just got better.<\/p>\n

The Maling Room\u2019s blends and single origins are popping up at coffee-smart cafes all over town. Owner and head roaster Andrew Lew has been producing excellent coffee in Canterbury\u2019s lovely old post office since 2006.<\/p>\n
