{"id":2067,"date":"2013-10-29T11:50:54","date_gmt":"2013-10-29T01:50:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.onlyaustralia.com.au\/?p=2067"},"modified":"2013-12-10T21:37:39","modified_gmt":"2013-12-10T11:37:39","slug":"show-recording-nightmares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onlyoz.com.au\/oa\/issues\/show-recording-nightmares","title":{"rendered":"TV Show Recording Nightmares"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past couple of years we have received many complaints from people who have gone to the recording of shows like Xfactor and Australia&#8217;s Got Talent.<\/p>\n<p>The complaints center around the treatment of people waiting for shows by so-called security personnel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Complaints<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Long waits in queues before shows commence<\/li>\n<li>Waiting outside in poor weather conditions*<\/li>\n<li>No consideration for the elderly waiting inline<\/li>\n<li>No consideration for ticket holders**<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* Hot weather without shade, and no shelter during rain<\/p>\n<p>** A group of young girls was allowed in who had not waited in the queue and did not have tickets, while a group who had waited over 2 hours with tickets were denied entry as the venue was full.<\/p>\n<p>Shows have been in Melbourne and Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>These fans need to be treated with respect and in better conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other complaints:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>very long breaks between acts, repeated cheering and hype.<\/li>\n<li>Sitting through acts that never make it to the &#8220;live&#8221; show.<\/li>\n<li>Sitting through promos for acts that appear on other shows (sorry Consentino),<\/li>\n<li>Many readers suspect the acts that go through are often decided well before they ever appear<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Xfactor | Sydney &#8211; October 2013<\/h2>\n<p><strong>I am terribly disgusted and extremely annoyed with Channel 7.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My daughter and 5 of her friends have returned from a taping of Xfactor in Sydney (we live in Newcastle).<\/p>\n<p>They were made to wait 3.5 hours in the hot sun outside Fox Studios before being allowed to enter into the studio.<\/p>\n<p>They asked if they could move out of the sun and were impolitely TOLD they they had to wait in line or they would lose their spots and be unable to enter.<\/p>\n<p>These 6 girls have come home severley sunburnt with two of them vomiting on the train due to heat exhaustion and severe sunburn.<\/p>\n<p>I am so terribly angry and upset with Channel 7 for not considering the people and having them wait for so long in sun.<\/p>\n<p>The day that was supposed to be a wonderful experience has turned into a nightmare for these young girls.\u00a0 They are sick, extremely sunburnt and in tears from their experience.<\/p>\n<p>It is neglegent of Channel 7 to have people wait as long as they did with no shade or ability for these young people to remove themselves from the sun without fear of losing their spots.<\/p>\n<p>I am a survivor of melanoma and I am extremely angry that my daughter has now been burnt so red that you cannot touch her and her skin that she protects has been burnt to the point of blistering.\u00a0 This is very detrimental to such young skin and can trigger melanoma.<\/p>\n<p>They asked TWICE to be moved into the shade but have said that they were RUDELY TOLD that they were to stay in line and wait.\u00a0 They were young and unaware of how long they had to wait and didnt want to lose their spot that they were very excited about having, so they did as they were TOLD !<\/p>\n<p>I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed we are with Channel 7.\u00a0 The other parents and we will be discussing the next course of action that we will take in regards to this matter.<\/p>\n<p>What was supposed to be a very excing time in these young girls lives has become an upsetting and painful experience.<\/p>\n<p>We now have 6 very sunburnt, sick and upset girls.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Very poor conduct Channel 7 very poor !!!!!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past couple of years we have received many complaints from people who have gone to the recording of shows like Xfactor and Australia&#8217;s Got Talent.
