Smullen realises Beauty task
Pat Smullen hopes Profound Beauty can give Dermot Weld his third Emirates Melbourne Cup on Tuesday. Weld is the only European-based handler to win the Flemington showpiece – with Vintage Crop (1993) and Media Puzzle (2002) – and brings back Profound Beauty, who was fifth in 2008.
