Broadcasting royalty and AFL legends all feature in an unmissable tribute to Dennis Cometti.

A feature-length documentary celebrating the life and career of legendary sports commentator Dennis Cometti will premiere on Seven and 7plus during AFL Grand Final week.

Dennis Cometti: Centimetre Perfect traces the remarkable career of one of Australia's most recognisable broadcasters, whose wit, timing and wonderfully inventive turns of phrase made him an enduring part of the nation's sporting soundtrack.

More than 12 months in the making, the Seven Sport documentary combines memorable calls with previously untold stories and reflections from Cometti's family, broadcasting colleagues and some of Australian sport's greatest names.

Cometti's son Mark shares memories of growing up with the celebrated commentator, while Olympic champions Kieren Perkins and Susie O'Neill discuss his ability to capture the excitement and emotion of elite competition.

The documentary also features Bruce McAvaney, Eddie McGuire, Sandy Roberts, Basil Zempilas, Nick Riewoldt, Chris Judd and Bob Murphy, offering insight into both Cometti's character and his extraordinary talent behind the microphone.

Across a broadcasting career spanning more than four decades, Cometti covered many of Australia's greatest sporting moments. Although best known as one of Australian football's finest commentators, his distinctive voice and dry humour reached well beyond the AFL.

Centimetre Perfect explores the creativity behind his commentary and the personality that made millions of viewers feel as though Cometti was sitting beside them at the game.
